Seattle Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher program helps people with low incomes pay rent from participating landlords. Applications are open year-round, and applicants are selected at random when vouchers become available. Applicants must check in every month to remain on the list. Tacoma Housing Authority has two open waitlists: one for affordable apartments owned by the housing authority and another for rental vouchers that help pay rent in Tacoma. People may apply to either waitlist or both. After applying, applicants must log in every January, April, July, and October to confirm they still need assistance. Vancouver Housing Authority has one current opening: the Columbia House senior-housing waitlist is open from August 27 through September 17, 2026. The Housing Choice Voucher waitlist, Project-Based Voucher waitlists, family waitlist, and most other VHA-owned or managed property waitlists are closed. Meriwether Place is referral-only. Armonía Apartments is an upcoming affordable housing community in McMinnville with studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom homes. Some apartments will be reserved for farmworkers. The non-subsidized Midland Commons waitlist opened August 25, 2026 and will remain open until the currently available units are filled.
