Washington DSHS - Diversion Cash Assistance
Short-term financial assistance for eligible families who need help with housing, transportation or other essential expenses and do not need ongoing monthly TANF assistance.
Costs and fees
Up to $2,000 during one 30-day period, no more than once every 12 months. A prorated amount must be repaid if the family starts TANF within the following 12 months.
Who may qualify
Washington families who meet TANF or State Family Assistance eligibility but are not currently receiving either benefit, and expect to meet ongoing needs without monthly cash assistance. DSHS determines eligibility.
